It is said by historian Kenneth L. Smith that the little sawmill town of Forester cut the last great stand of virgin forest east of the Rockies. The railroad tracks that ran through town carried the lumber out to market, and it was shipped all over the world. The men and women who worked at Forester, and the children growing up there always felt it was a special place.
